FAQs

Yes, I am happy to accept most major insurances. If you have a high deductible plan or require a sliding scale, please reach out. I do my best to work with any financial barrier to make therapy accessible.

It all begins with a brief consultation call. During this 15-minute conversation, we will discuss what you are wanting to address in therapy and determine if working together seems like a good fit. You are welcome to ask any questions about myself or the process at that time.

The process can be different for everyone, but I hope this is a helpful overview. First, we will have a consultation call or zoom. This makes sure I’m a good fit for your needs and our schedules will allow for regular meeting times. Next, I gather paperwork through an online portal and we schedule the first session. The first session is always an initial interview/intake format. This helps us determine the best treatment plan. Based on the initial interview, we can discuss the frequency and duration of sessions. Follow-up session to the intake are based on your agenda for the week. We discuss what’s been going on in order of importance and identify goals/needs for the following week.
Overall, therapy should be a positive experience. It can stir up difficult emotions and be challenging at times, but you should never feel alone in this process. The goal of therapy is to address symptoms and provide you with the necessary tools to manage what’s going on in your life.

I have been trained in a variety of evidence-based mental health therapy techniques. Based on your presenting concern, I will talk with you about the treatment plan. I often use a style of Dialectical Behavior Therapy which teaches concrete tools such as emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, and mindfulness. I also pull from a client-centered approach which allows you to set the agenda and help shape the therapy process. If you have any questions, please reach out!
I try to be welcoming and helpful. I want you to feel heard while also learning something that makes managing the day a little easier.
